What is a Lead?

A deposit of valuable mineral formed in the bed of a stream by mechanical concentration of mineral and/or rock particles derived from weathered debris.

What are Deep Leads?

A buried lead, the course of which cannot be determined directly from the present topography because the drainage pattern has been altered either by obliteration by lava flows or by the deposition of younger sediments.
